Convergency Systems is the genesis of two seasoned leaders joining forces to fill a void in the corporate world of training and development of leaders and executives. Alan Gleghorn and John Edwards come from backgrounds in the corporate world leading successful organizations in both results and developing leaders and teams. Their passion and focus is in developing individuals and teams, energizing them and equipping them to contribute over and above what they and their organizations thought was possible. Transforming organizations and individuals in an approach that not only creates greater results but team members are more engaged and have more fun both on and off the job.
Convergency Systems is currently seeking organizations to partner with in order to develop a customized approach that is right for them. John and Alan have assembled their team who has both breadth and depth of experience in delivering world-class training and leadership development. The starting point for an engagement begins with an assessment survey during the discovery phase. This would involve both dialogue with the senior leadership team as well as a survey of all team members and employees. This phase culminates with a report out to the senior team with the results and also involves a sampling, a real time module of Experiential Learning targeted by results from the discovery process.
Health and Wellness Industry: Alan has spent his entire career working within this sector. His experience has highlighted the need for leadership development in an environment, which is becoming more and more challenging. A large number of people have already checked out as they have become disillusioned from increasing demands as organizations try to react to the rapidly changing environment. The need for physician leadership has never been greater. Alan is a subject matter expert in helping physicians address their ever-increasing workload and expectations of the players in the system.
Industry and Manufacturing: John’s experience in manufacturing and wood products in the Pacific Northwest spanned 30 plus years. Managing in both union and nonunion organizations, John witnessed the downfall and decimation of his industry, due in a large part, to a lack of interest in developing effective leaders. The prevailing mindset, “we’ve always done it this way,” contributed to a lack of employee engagement, high turn over, strikes by unions, and the loss of thousands of high paying jobs in the Northwest. Communities were devastated and some completely disappeared, schools lost annual financial support from timber taxes and families were torn apart.
John has spent the last fourteen years of his career in a concentrated effort supporting large and small businesses in developing their leaders through Experiential Learning seminars that he has presented around the globe.
Leadership starts at the top of any organization and the results of that leadership is reflected in an organizations employees and the community and market it serves. Only those companies committed to developing their leaders will survive to fulfill their missions and provide a high rate of return to their stakeholders.
